Oftentimes the reach of social responsibility is limited to the period of time when a particular asset is owned. An essential element of Socially Responsible Real Estate trade lies in the sale of property and the nature of the future use of the physical resource. SRREIT will attract the correct buyer by asking probing questions motivation for buying the property, what use they have in mind, and determine whether or not such use is in harmony with the goals and direction of the community. Instead of simply making this determination internally, SRREIT will consult with the community and involve them intimately in the decision making process.
An interested buyer then, must not only show the financial means to purchase the property, but must also have a goal and purpose for the use of the property that will contribute to the well-being of the community.
